PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
Hesperidin (glycoside) is a flavonoid compound, which contains dihydroflavonoid glycosides, showing weak acidity. The pure product is white needle-like and is the main component of vitamin P.
Hesperidin is hydrogenated into dihydrochalcone, a natural sweetener 1000 times sweeter than sucrose, which can be used as a functional food additive. Hesperidin also has various biological properties.
It has been found to have an antioxidant, anti-cancer, anti-mildew, anti-allergic, blood pressure lowering, cholesterol-lowering, cancer inhibiting, osmotic pressure maintaining, and capillary toughness enhancing properties in modern research.
Studies have also demonstrated that hesperidin has a broad-spectrum antibacterial effect on common foodborne bacteria, and inhibits Bacillus subtilis, Salmonella typhimurium, Shigella freundii, hemolytic streptococcus and Vibrio cholera. Because of this, it is used in food additives and food processing.
