PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
D-Psicose is also known as allulose sweetener. It is classified as a “rare sugar” because it occurs naturally in a small number of foods. We can find it in wheat, figs and raisins.
It is a low-calorie sugar that is absorbed by the body but not metabolized, so it contains almost no calories. It is a differential isomer of fructose. Allulose is used in baked goods, candies, sweet sauces, dairy products, ice cream, desserts, beverages and other products.
D-psicose has few downsides. It’s 70-80% as sweet as sugar and has a synergistic effect on the glycemic index of foods it’s eaten with, meaning it won’t raise your blood sugar levels, but it will also lower the Glycemic index and other carbohydrates.
It has zero net carbs, no chemical aftertaste, and won’t upset your stomach like sugar alcohols like xylitol or erythritol.
Allulose sweetener has about 10 percent of the calories of regular sugar.
D-Psicose is a natural sweetener more similar to regular table sugar. It doesn’t have any bitterness or other negative flavors, making it a promising option in the sweetener market.

D-Psicose Application
D-psicose is a useful low-calorie sweetener because it is not easily digested or absorbed. It doesn’t provide much energy, so it doesn’t fuel vital activities.
In the field of medical and health, D-psicose has shown the potential to inhibit fatty liver enzymes and intestinal alpha-glucosidase. This in turn reduces the accumulation of body fat and slows the rise in blood sugar concentrations. In addition, D-psicose also has the potential to treat nerve tissue degeneration and atherosclerosis.
D-psicose has high sweetness, good solubility, low calorie and low blood sugar response, and is a promising substitute for sucrose in food applications. Adding D-psicose to food can improve its gelation degree, and react with food protein through Maillard reaction to improve flavor.
Compared with D-fructose and D-glucose, D-psicose produces more antioxidant Maillard reaction products, which can maintain the antioxidant level of food for a longer time.
It is expected that in the future, all-natural substances and edible sugars found in nature will be used to produce pesticides that are beneficial to both humans and the environment.
