African mangoes, also known as bush mangoes, are produced in the tropical rainforests of the west coast of Cameroon and are different from other mangoes. It produces a special kind of seed known locally in Cameroon as “Dika Nut”. For hundreds of years, the medicinal value of a seed extract called wild mango seed oil has been widely used by local villagers in Cameroon, with the effect of suppressing obesity, lowering cholesterol, regulating blood sugar levels and even treating infectious diseases. Studies have shown that African mango extracts significantly reduce body fat, blood cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and triglycerides.
