PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
What’s Siberian Ginseng Extract?
Acanthopanax extract is derived from the roots and rhizomes of Acanthopanax, a plant in the family Wujiaceae. The roots and rhizomes of Acanthopanax contain active ingredients mainly including glycosides, flavonoids and polysaccharides.Eleutheroside are the main active ingredients of Acanthopanax extract, and the application areas mainly include health care and pharmaceutical treatment.

Benefits and Uses of Siberian Ginseng Extract
1. Effects on the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular systems
There are many literature reports on the protection of cardiovascular system by Eleutherococcus leaf. The main chemical constituent that plays a role is saponins. Studies have shown that Eleutheroside improves cerebral ischemia and may be related to its obvious improvement in microcirculation and increase in blood supply to the brain tissue. At the same time, Eleutheroside can also improve myocardial ischemia and the damage caused by myocardial ischemia.
Su Dahuan et al. found that Astragalus polysaccharides could improve the arrhythmia caused by myocardial ischemia-reperfusion (IRI) in rats by enhancing the antioxidant enzyme activity in cardiac tissue, reducing free radicals and Ca2+ overload, and could also significantly reduce the size of the myocardial infarction area caused by myocardial ischemia-reperfusion and the content of peroxide lipids in the serum and liver tissue of hyperlipidemic rats, inhibit platelet aggregation, improve the abnormal changes in blood rheology in the acute thrombosis model, and play a role in preventing atherosclerosis, thrombosis, and myocardial infarction, suggesting that the protection of myocardial ischemia may be related to the improvement of blood flow dynamics.
In addition, schisandrin B can significantly increase the left ventricular contractile pressure (LVSP) and systolic blood pressure (SBP) of rats with acute myocardial infarction, reduce LVEDP, and provide protection to rats with acute myocardial infarction. This may be related to its ability to enhance the activity of antioxidant enzymes, reduce free radical damage, correct FFA metabolic disorders and LA accumulation, inhibit inflammatory responses, and resist oxidative stress induced by hydrogen peroxide in mouse myocardial cells and rat myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury, suggesting that it should have antioxidant activity.
2. Anti-diabetic effects
Astragalus polysaccharides can lower fasting and postprandial blood glucose levels in NIDDM rat models, increase GLP-1, insulin, and C-peptide levels, and increase insulin secretion in 2-type diabetic rats, providing protection for insulin beta cells, but have no effect on normal rats.
Meanwhile, studies have shown that astragalus polysaccharides (ASS) can lower blood sugar levels in experimental diabetic rats, increase the content of lipid peroxides (LPO) in plasma and pancreatic tissue, and increase the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD), which is closely related to enhancing the activity of antioxidant enzymes and resisting oxidative damage.
3. Anti-tumor effects
The schizandra chinensis saponin inhibits the mitosis and DNA synthesis of human liver cancer cells (HepG-2) in the human body, preventing the proliferation of liver cancer cells and promoting their apoptosis. It also affects the protein expression in the Spc-A1 lung cancer cells, changing their morphology and cycle dynamics, accelerating their apoptosis. Additionally, it promotes the influx of Ca 2+, inhibiting the DNA synthesis of SGC-7901 gastric cancer cells, slowing their proliferation.
According to relevant studies, the mechanism by which Eleutherococcus senticosus saponins inhibit tumor growth may be related to their ability to regulate the expression of related gene proteins, namely, inhibiting the expression of Bcl-2 protein and promoting the expression of Bax protein.
4. Sleep-promoting effects
Siberian ginseng has been regarded as a longevity tonic since ancient times. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that Siberian ginseng has the benefits of invigorating qi, strengthening the spleen and kidneys, and promoting sleep. It is mainly used for diseases such as yang deficiency of the spleen and kidneys, weakness, lack of appetite, knee pain, and insomnia. The Shennong Bencao Jing, a classic of traditional Chinese medicine from the Han Dynasty, has already listed it as an upper-class medicine with the function of “replenishing the middle and invigorating qi.” “Better to have a handful of Siberian ginseng than a cartload of gold and jade,” Li Shizhen, a famous Chinese herbalist in the Ming Dynasty, praised Siberian ginseng highly in his book Bencao Gangmu; according to the book Practical Tonifying Chinese Herbs, Siberian ginseng has the benefits of invigorating qi, strengthening the spleen and kidneys, and promoting sleep, and is mainly used for diseases such as yang deficiency of the spleen and kidneys, fatigue, insomnia, etc.
Schisandra has the effects of invigorating qi, tonifying the spleen, and nourishing the kidneys, as well as calming the spirit. It can improve blood supply to the brain and exert a dual regulating effect on the central nervous system, either exciting or inhibiting it, which is beneficial for restoring sleep and adjusting the cycle. Insomnia belongs to the category of “not sleeping” in traditional Chinese medicine. The reason for insomnia is excessive thinking, which damages the heart and spleen, depletes qi and blood, or fails to nourish the spirit, causing the disease. Schisandra has the effects of nourishing qi and blood, adjusting yin and yang, and calming the spirit and promoting sleep.
5. Boost immunity.
Eleutherococcus can significantly enhance the ability of cells to produce inducible interferon, protect against leukopenia caused by subcutaneous injection of cyclophosphamide, and have a significant preventive effect on leukopenia. Eleutherococcus can significantly improve liver toxicity and promote the body’s ability to resist infections, and has a certain resistance to tuberculosis infection. Eleutherococcus extracts show that they can stimulate cellular immunity. Therefore, Eleutherococcus is used for various immune-related diseases.
