Dihydromyricetin is an extract from grape family plants, such as tea vine, and is the main active compound of flavonoids in tea vine. These substances have a variety of unique effects, including removing free radicals, anti-oxidation, anti-thrombosis, anti-tumor, anti-inflammation, etc. Among them, dihydromyricetin is a relatively special flavonoid compound, which has special effects in relieving alcohol poisoning, preventing alcoholic liver, fatty liver, inhibiting the deterioration of liver cells, reducing the incidence of liver cancer, anti-hypertension, inhibiting platelet aggregation in vitro and the formation of thrombosis in vivo, lowering blood lipid and glucose levels, improving the activity of SOD, and protecting and nourishing the liver.
Antibacterial Action: Pharmacological experiments have shown that dihydromyricetin has inhibitory effects on Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella, Escherichia coli, Aerobacter aerogenes, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Rhodotorula glutinis, Penicillium chrysogenum, Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus, Mucor mucedo, and Rhizopus stolonifer. Its effects are particularly pronounced against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria or bacteria.
The regulation of blood sugar and lipid levels: In pharmacological experiments on mice, dihydromyricetin was found to significantly inhibit the increase in blood sugar induced by alloxan, adrenaline, streptozotocin, etc., while raising the level of insulin in the blood serum. The number of insulin-producing cells in the pancreas was significantly increased, while the infiltration of lymphocytes in the pancreas was significantly reduced and the inflammatory reaction was significantly alleviated. In addition, dihydromyricetin had a lowering effect on the content of triglycerides (TG) in the blood serum of streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats, but had no significant effect on the content of total cholesterol (TC) and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL2C).
The liver-protective effect: Dihydromyricetin has a significant protective effect on CCl4-induced hepatotoxicity in rat liver cells cultured in vitro, as well as on D-galactosamine and lipopolysaccharide-induced liver injury in mice. Dihydromyricetin can protect the liver and accelerate the decomposition of ethanol metabolite acetaldehyde into non-toxic substances, thereby reducing its harm to liver cells. In addition, dihydromyricetin can improve the increased lactate dehydrogenase activity in serum caused by liver cell damage, inhibit the formation of collagen fibers in hepatic stellate cells (M cells), thus playing a role in liver protection and liver detoxification. It can significantly reduce the damage caused by alcohol to the liver and restore the normal state of the liver at a fast pace. The Microherb test proves that dihydromyricetin can protect the liver, accelerate the decomposition of ethanol metabolite acetaldehyde into non-toxic substances, thereby reducing its harm to liver cells. Dihydromyricetin has a rapid onset of action and a long-lasting effect, making it an excellent product for liver protection and alcohol detoxification.
Antioxidant Activity: Pure 98% dihydromyricetin can significantly inhibit the generation of malondialdehyde (MDA) in rat heart, liver and brain tissue homogenates, and the inhibitory effect on MDA generation increases with the increase of dihydromyricetin concentration. The 99% pure dihydromyricetin has a clearance rate for DPPH free radicals in the test system. Dihydromyricetin can significantly inhibit the generation of MDA in oils, and the antioxidant effect increases with the increase of dihydromyricetin purity (60%-90%); it has a strong antioxidant effect on both animal oil and vegetable oil.
Anti-tumor effects: Anti-tumor pharmacological studies have found that one of its active ingredients, Ampelopsis alba, a small molecule compound, has a relatively strong anti-cancer effect. In vitro and in vivo anti-tumor studies have found that this compound can achieve the goal of improving tumor treatment effects and improving the physical condition of patients by inhibiting tumor angiogenesis, regulating and enhancing cellular immune function, etc. In the experimental studies of leukemia and nasopharyngeal carcinoma, it has shown obvious anti-tumor effects.
Heterodermis sinica, also known as vine tea, is a traditional herbal medicine used by the local people and was widely used to treat skin diseases, boils, osteomyelitis, acute lymphangitis and other infectious diseases. Dihydroflavonol glycoside is widely used in traditional Chinese medicine formulations for respiratory infections, alcohol poisoning, and has been found to have anti-tumor activity in pharmacological studies. The research on dihydroflavonol glycoside has obtained patent authorization in the field of preparing anti-leukemia and nasopharyngeal carcinoma drugs. It is expected to enter clinical trial stage as a new drug. The development of herbal medicine Sheshuyu (total flavonoids of Heterodermis sinica) and dihydroflavonol glycoside extraction, purification technology, and related toxicological experiments and efficacy studies have been completed, and dihydroflavonol glycoside as a functional additive component has been developed into a rapid dissolving tea, Sheshuyu total flavonoids tablets, and dihydroflavonol glycoside liver protection and detoxification capsules as health food.
